Why I Started a Personal Brand Instagram (And Why You Might Want to Too)
Let’s Talk Personal Branding…
For a long time, I kept my social media strictly business.
If I wanted to grow my audience and build credibility, I thought I had to focus solely on strategy, value, and results.
So I did that.
I built Muse Groupe, Miami’s premier real estate marketing agency.
I started building Muse Marketing Academy, the space to help women in marketing start their own businesses.
I shared what we did, how we served our clients, and positioned the brand as the expert.
But something felt… off.
I wasn’t showing me.
Not the woman behind those businesses. Not the mom, the wife, the traveler, the Ukrainian, the lover of style and beautiful spaces.
And slowly, I started to feel disconnected — from my content, and more importantly, from my audience.
The Turning Point
The truth is, I was running two businesses—and trying to speak to two totally different audiences through one brand voice.
At the same time, I was craving a deeper connection with the women I most wanted to serve: female marketing executives who, like me, were ready to stop building someone else’s dream and start creating their own.
I realized I couldn’t do that from behind a logo.
I had to step forward as myself.
So I created something new - Instagram page with my name @anastasiia_mann
My personal brand. A space where I could bring all the pieces of me together—and serve from a place that felt deeply aligned.
Was I nervous to start fresh? Of course.
But I was also excited. Because this wasn’t just another Instagram—it was the start of a new chapter.
What Inspired the Shift
When I think about the women who’ve inspired me most, it’s not just their business content I remember.
It’s them.
Jenna Kutcher—with her honesty, her motherhood stories, her love of skincare and confidence.
Amy Porterfield—with her marketing brilliance and her behind-the-scenes glimpses into her life with Hobie.
They don’t just teach. They connect.
Watching them made me realize: People don’t just buy from businesses. They buy from people.
And if I wanted to build a brand that truly resonated with women like me, I needed to let them see me—not just my work.
Why I Started My Personal Brand Instagram
So what’s actually changing?
I’m still talking about marketing, mindset, and helping women build profitable, freedom-first businesses. That passion hasn’t gone anywhere.
But now, I’m also sharing:
My love for travel and the places that inspire me
My Ukrainian roots and how they shape my perspective
My personal style (because let’s be honest, the right outfit changes everything)
The real-time lessons I’m learning as I grow my business
What’s working in my content strategy—and what’s not
Because connection doesn’t happen in the highlight reel.
It happens in the in-between.
Should You Start a Personal Brand Instagram?
If you’re a marketing executive, a freelancer, or a creative entrepreneur thinking about going out on your own—this might be the move you’ve been avoiding, but actually need.
Here are a few signs that personal branding could be right for you:
You want to build trust and connection with your audience
You’re craving more freedom to express who you really are
You have interests beyond your business that your audience can relate to
You’re building a long-term brand, not just chasing quick wins
You want to stop hiding behind a logo and start showing up as you
That said, if you prefer to stay behind the scenes, or build something that isn’t directly tied to your name, a business brand might be a better fit.
There’s no right or wrong—just what aligns best with your vision.
Final Thoughts
When I launched this account, I didn’t have it all figured out.
I just knew I wanted to connect more deeply, show up more honestly, and build something that felt like home—for me, and for the women I serve.
I recently came across the concept of Tiny Experiments by Anne-Laure Le Cunff — the idea that clarity and confidence don’t come from having the perfect plan.
They come from starting small and learning as you go.
This personal brand?
It’s my own tiny experiment.
A space to show up, try things, pivot, and grow.
A space to share what I’m learning, in business and in life.
And if you’re feeling the pull to do something similar…
Start where you are.
You don’t need permission.
You just need to begin.
You’re not behind. You’re becoming.
