Key Questions to Answer When Creating Your Content Strategy

Real estate is like a sport. It’s competitive, and it takes consistent effort to become a better salesperson, negotiator, and marketer.

Before we dive into creating your content strategy, let’s define what content strategy is and why you need one. A content strategy is a strategy that helps you achieve your business goals with the means of content.

For example, if your business goal is to list 25 homes this quarter, to achieve this goal, you might implement a content strategy that focuses on content for sellers with benefits and case studies on how you are the perfect fit to sell their home. That content will be added to your website in the form of a blog post, in your social media channels, printed marketing materials, and ads.

When developing your social media content strategy, you’d like to ask yourself the following questions:

2. What problem will you be solving for your ideal customer?

Identify the problem that you are going to solve for your target audience is. Is your ideal customer aware of that problem already? Or do you need to educate that customer on the existence of that problem and how you can help solve it? For example, if a home seller is your ideal customer, what problem are you going to solve for them? Do they know that they need a realtor to represent them for a worry-free and smooth experience + getting a competitive offer in the current market?

When deciding on channels to deliver your content, you want to ask yourself, “If I am my ideal customer, where do I spend my time in?” If the answer is Instagram and Facebook – go ahead and have that as your channel. If the answer is browsing the internet and looking for the answers myself – publish content on your website and make sure you are working on your SEO and Google Ad Words could be a great way to get in front of your ideal audience!
