How to Leverage LinkedIn to Get Real Estate Leads

LinkedIn is one of the most underutilized social media platforms when comes to real estate marketing. Did you know there are 660 million LinkedIn users as of 2020 where 90 million are senior-level executives and 63 million decision-makers? When sorted by income, 60% of United States LinkedIn users are those with an income of $100k and more (Influencer Marketing Hub, 2020).

Here is how to get started with leveraging LinkedIn to generate real estate leads:

LinkedIn Profile Optimization

Optimize your LinkedIn profile

  • Use a professional headshot as your profile picture

  • Upload a background photo that speaks to your expertise / niche:

- Areal picture of the neighborhood you are specializing in
- Your most recent sold property image
- Your luxury listing image

  • Optimize your headline to showcase what you are specializing in – be specific:

- Realtor Associate, Listing & Selling Pinecrest, FL
- Exclusive In-House Sales Executive of XYZ New Construction

  • Write a compelling bio and add your website URL

  • Fill out your work experience, education and all the accomplishments over the years

  • Ask for recommendations and skill endorsements from the customers you served

  • Create a content plan and focus on posting 2-3 times a week and, most importantly, be consistent

Build your network

Build your network

  • Allow LinkedIn access to your contact list to invite them to connect with you on LinkedIn. It’s an easy and automatic way to grow your network from your existing connections.

  • Join real estate and professional groups and network within the group. Remember the more you put it – the more you get out from the group. Be genuine, authentic, and provide value.

  • Grow your LinkedIn network by utilizing third party LinkedIn automation software such as Octopus CRM. The software allows you to create your personal LinkedIn lead generation funnel by connecting automatically with your target audience, then send a “thank you” message once the connection requests are accepted, and convert them into clients by engaging in meaningful conversations.

According to a HubSpot study, LinkedIn is 277% more effective for lead generation than Facebook and Twitter. While sites like Instagram and Facebook may have more active users, those platforms are mostly focused on entertaining, making friends and advertising, not building your professional network.
