Two Things You Need to Know About Apple iOS Changes and Your Email Marketing Efforts

The new IOS 15 update will have a profound impact that will affect how real estate agents market themselves and their services / listings. You can overcome these challenges by creating relevant content that drives their audiences to act, while building deeper connections and relationships. Jay Baer once said, “The more you know about your customers, the more you can provide to them information that is increasingly useful, relevant, and persuasive”.

Here are the 2 things you need know about the IOS 15 Updates.

  1. Mail Privacy Protection (MPP)

The Mail Privacy Protect feature will prevent you from sending invisible pixels via email that are used to gain more information about customers behavior such as:

·       Knowing when an email was opened

·       Tracking online activity from other apps

·       IP addresses are now masked, blocking potential client’s locations

Solutions:

You should begin pivoting and leveraging other email marketing data this includes:

·      Click through rates: make sure you’re sharing links to content, such as blogs, website pages, and offers in email. Your click-through rates give you insights on how many or how often email readers engaged with and clicked on your content. This will give you an idea of what content is engaging

·      Driving traffic to your site:  the use of tracking URLs and different software you can determine how much traffic came to your website from one single email. Ultimately, if you're trying to build your audiences, you'll need to send people to your website.

2. Hide My Email (within iCloud+)

This is an email feature that enables users to give sites a "fake" random email addresses on apps, websites, and social media. This impacts promotional emails, newsletters, and growing your mailing list as a person's real address can only be obtained if individuals choose to share it. This is important because getting fake emails from opt-in pages will affect lead generation, acquisition, communication, and much more.

Solution:

·       Focus on first-party data collection: focus on running campaigns with personalized messaging that is targeted, speaks to your audience’s interests, and provides value. Providing enticements on your website and other social media pages can include small freebies, value related blog posts, or a consultation. Focus on attractive offers that will make clients want to provide their email and opt-in.

There is no need to panic – email marketing still works! More importantly, this is a positive change for the customer experience. Customers want privacy and they also want the message to be relevant to them, so stay consistent, provide valuable information to your contacts and your email marketing efforts will pay off!
